Joined letters (22 Letters)

They join (Connect) the letter following them and their shape – form – changes according to their position in the word.

 

Initial Form

Is used when the letter starts a word.

 

Medial Form

One shape is used when the letter is inside a word and only joined with the following letter.

 

Another shape is used when the letter is inside a word and joined with the previous (Preceding) letter and also joined with the following letter.

 

Final Form

* One shape is used when the letter stands after a non-connecter (Disjoined) letter.

* Another shape is used when the letter comes after a connecter (Joined) letter.

 

 

Writing Arabic Words and sentences is from right to left.

Reading Arabic words and sentences are horizontal from right to left.

There are no capital letters in Arabic.
